Bathroom LOVE

The bathroom is the place you can really have FUN with color combinations. Although most say this is the room to tone down the color, I tend to lean the opposite. I like a vibrant color to give you that ZEST to start off your day (yes, my bathroom is a bright shade of YELLOW). But, even if you opt for a relazing shade, play up the accessories in your bathroom for some fun. "It's in the Detail" Love

What is it that makes a room "designed"? Let's face it, all of us try to imitate what we see designers do on all the design shows. Heck, if you're like me sometimes you think you got it just right and sometimes it takes some tweaking to get it right. And, even when you get it right you never really leave it that way for long. It's a constant battle of extra touches and detail. That's becauase the art of good interior design lies in the detail. What makes the room shine, stand out, touch you? The answers to those questions are easy to find...use what you LOVE!!

For me, there really are no real rules in design. If you love it, use it! After all, those pieces will give your space the details which lend themselves to the design of the room. That's the trick to making design work for you and making it your own space. Mix and colors, patterns, textures and periods. You don't have to be Contemporary or Victorian. You don't have to fit inside a design box. All you have to do is make it what you love! Remember, If you love it, use it! Here are a few pictures of what I mean about the details....

Wedding Love

Exciting news....my sister is getting married! She went through a rough divorce several years ago and we were all worried she wouldn't recover. She's bounced back and discovered that love is always worth another try and I couldn't be happier for her!

The date has been set for Friday, July 8th which is the same day I got married, soon to be 11 years ago! She is more than excited (as she should be) and I'm excited that we will share the same anniversary. She asked me to send her a few decorating ideas--the venue is outside in a historic park. There were a few of my suggestions.

Organizing Love

I'm in an organizing mood right now--mostly becuase I think we have too much stuff! Don't get me wrong, mommy LOVES stuff but I just don't want to see piles of it all the time. So, I'm working on some out-of-sight storage and some clever display storage. These photographs are some of my inspirations--I just LOVE good, organized, designed storage!
